To find poker talent, Sky Poker is launching Total Player, a new TV contest. The winner of the contest, decided by public vote, will be bought into Sky Poker Tour event, a professional tournament with a Ј1,000 buy-in and, ultimately, the $10,000 buy-in WSOP main event in Las Vegas. Winner’s mentor will get 10% of his player’s winnings.

Matt Broughton, Ed Giddens and David Tuckman are reported to be the judges for Total Player.

Pitbull Poker is dead with Player funds missing

PitbullPoker, a small gambling website closed down with thousands of users loosing their accounts including funds which were never returned to them.

According to the witnesses the story began with the owners of the site shutting down computers from the network. They just came in the office at night and killed the server. Police came to find out what happened, the owners were taken to explain the situation and the website remains closed since then. It officially stated now that Pitbull Poker exists no more.

The situation would not have been that noisy if it was not for the players’ funds involved in this mess. No Player has had his funds returned and the total amount of the money containing in the accounts constitutes more than $100.000

It is known that back on July 22^nd one of the players, mainly Chesterboy, who appears to be not simply an average player but a good competitor, assumed that PitbullPoker had superusers. He believed he had proof and now after several months of investigation, he is sure that his presumptions were true.

Full Tilt accused of using Bots at their tables

Tragic Loss

Andreas Oscarsson, the founder of leading online poker information portal PokerListings.com, was found dead in his home in Sweded on August 3, 2009.

There are no particular details other than the 36-year-old WSOP winner, Oscarsson was shot.

Andreas was considered a great source of inspiration and energy and at the same time a tough negotiator and highly respected opponent – a true and really dedicated to the industry professional.

Our condolences go out to Andrea’s family and friends.

PartyPoker Strengthens the Team

Bodo Sbrzesny (29 y.o.) from Bruchsal, Germany, is reported to have joined the Party Poker’s team. Previously going by “Miamivice70” and “LoveToWin79” screen names on PartyPoker.com, he will be playing under “Bodo_Feels_It”.

Bodo, known to have been a semi-professional tennis player and professional video gamer, was noticed in September last year in the PartyPoker.com Poker Den, then, lots of people thought that a new star was born.

Obviously, Bodo transferred his skills from playing “Counter Strike” video game.

Party Poker will soon be revealing the names of other members of the team as well as the team’s concept.
